Deadeye PvP Guide

Swapping between pistol, shotgun and sniper, Deadeye is a modern weapons master ready to unload his arsenal in PvP.

Deadeye is a melee-focused version of Gunslinger, with greater emphasis on a hybrid playstyle with a low cooldown Push Immune Push-Inflicting melee skill and ranged zone control.

Deadeye has incredible combo damage and can chain most of his damaging abilities off of his core engage, Enforce Execution. He has decent ranged peeling potential, but excels more at taking map control with sniper skills such as Aimed Shot. His defence and HP values are low, and he has rather high burst cooldowns, but by rotating between shotgun and sniper effectively, Deadeye is rarely caught without something up his sleeve.

Ultimate

Both Awakenings are valid. Clay Bombardment is safer, as its AoE will discourage enemies from engaging, and it also true combos off of Enforce Execution into AT02 Grenade. It deals solid damage but is not particularly useful for much else. Bursting Flare does less damage, but it is a safer way of landing an Awakening from a distance.

Alternate pods & skills

Although Deadeye has a lot of skills, his build is somewhat fixed as other shotgun and pistol skills usually don’t warrant much investment.

Tips

  • Deadeye has a pretty hybrid playstyle – a lot of his strength actually comes from being up and close as Enforce Execution is barely a 10 second cooldown skill. He can peel pretty effectively for teammates and get reliable Pushes at melee, so sniper skills can be used for zone control (Aimed Shot) and to create opportunities for initiation.
  • The damage increase on Catastrophe to downed targets does not work if they are frozen while on the ground, as the freeze Hard CC supersedes the grounded state. Catastrophe is a safer burst tool (if you feel you will get peeled off) but also yields more damage if you can get targets without a ground escape roll.
  • Try to use Spiral Tracker over AT02 Grenade if possible when comboing enemies. With how useful it can be as a ranged Hard CC peel tool, the grenade may be better reserved to support your allies. You may need it for certain combos though, especially from long distance catches, so getting used to range thresholds is important.
  • Deadeye is an incredibly good dueler. Isolating enemies and then using superior mobility, Paralysis and Push skills to convert into big damage is an effective strategy in 3v3. Rotate between targeting the enemy backline and peeling for your own team to use your cooldowns effectively.
